How to access Esland Online School

To help bring to life the education we provide, we’ve collated some practical FAQs on how our bright and vibrant online school operates, with helpful hints and tips on what to do and who to contact if a student has any issues.

What do students need to get started?

Students will need to find a quiet space to work at home where they can easily connect to a stable internet/Wi-Fi connection. We’ll provide them with their own laptop with all the relevant access, safeguarding and security software preinstalled so they can dive straight into their learning without delay or distractions.

We’ll also email them their unique username and password so they can log into Microsoft Teams for Education. This is the platform they’ll use to access their lessons and engage with their teachers and therapeutic clinicians.

How do students know when their lessons are?

When a student first joins us, they complete several academic and therapeutic assessments so that we can comprehensively understand their abilities, emotional needs, and social development. This profile helps our staff create a bespoke timetable of lessons that students will use daily.

What if a student is struggling to access their lessons?

If a student has lost their login details or is experiencing any technical difficulties, they can either email naseemakhtar@esland.co.uk or phone 01332 401256, to help them get back online as soon as possible.

What if a student doesn’t have access to an internet connection?

If a student cannot access a stable internet connection, we provide an alternative internet solution.

What if a student needs extra resources for their lessons?

Whether it’s stationary, textbooks or lesson-specific items, we’ll send everything a student needs directly to their home so that they’re ready and prepared to learn.

What if a student is ill and unable to attend their lessons?

If a student can’t attend their lessons due to sickness, their parent or carer must let the school know by calling us on 01332 401256 as early as possible.

Are lessons recorded or live?

All lessons are delivered as live online sessions, and students can interact with their teachers and classmates through video, audio and text. We record each session so that students can view them again at any time.

How can students catch up if they miss a lesson?

We record all our live lessons so students can view them to catch up if they’ve been absent or want to recap any content.

Can students contact their teacher or therapeutic clinician between lessons?

Yes, students can email their teacher or therapeutic clinician at any time. Our team will reply according to their schedule and the urgency of the enquiry.
